At the heart of our team is Jacob VanDonkelaar, founder and CEO of Timberhorne. Jacob’s connection to construction began at a young age in his father’s cabinet shop, where he spent his time installing cabinet hardware, sweeping floors, and learning the value of craftsmanship firsthand.
What began as a childhood interest grew into a lifelong career when Jacob began working part-time for a construction company in high school. Today, he brings more than twenty years of experience in the construction industry, with a background that spans estimating and quoting projects, managing complex builds, leading crews in the field, and working closely with clients throughout the construction process.
For Jacob, great construction is about more than simply executing a set of plans. It’s about understanding the client’s vision, collaborating through the details, solving problems as they arise, and bringing that vision to life with craftsmanship and intention.
When he’s not working, Jacob enjoys mixology, sports, spending time with his wife and young daughter, and making the most of everything Alaska has to offer.
